How long have you been doing music?
I have been releasing music for the past 3 years. I started writing lyrics when I was a sophomore in high school, but got a little late start to finally putting my music our to the world on YouTube, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
How old are you?
24 years old.
Where are you from?
Im from Globe Arizona, about an hour away from The Valley (Phoenix, Az), it's an old copper mining town.
What style of music do you make?
The style of music that's made by Tall Tree is Hip-Hop & R&B based music, more on the lyrical side of music.
What are your musical influences?
When I was growing up I listen to a lot of Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eminem and Snoop Dog. As well as Usher and Bands such as Fall Out Boy and a System Of A Down. As I got older I really got into Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and J. Cole.
When did you start making music and why?
When I turned 20 years old I started really pursuing making my music and recording it. It wasn't until I was 21 year of age until I finally released my 1st song to the world on SoundCloud. I always felt im a natural leader and I have something special to share with this world before i'm gone!
What makes you unique?
What makes Tall Tree unique is the fact that we have a real message in our music and are telling of trials and tribulations that I have personally gone through. All in my own way that doesn't compare to other talented musicians. The sound is usually a very chill vibe, but we have been putting more upbeat tracks out to show the versatility of Tall Tree's music ability.
What do you want people to know about you?
I want the fans to know that anything is possible when you put your mind to it, and have a little faith in yourself. I never thought I would be where I am today performing shows and actually receiving a following on music platforms. I come from a poor family and times have always been hard, so i'm going to create the music that tells my story in the hope anyone else going through hard times can know they're not alone! Life's hard enough let alone a feeling of thinking your the only one going through hard times!

I started writting Tracks when I was 15 it was just a hobby, I use to write Alot At Home Outdoors And Even In Class High school days! My upbringing wasent the best so I believe it's because of that, it's what sparked my interest into writting.
I just never took it serious because it was a hobby, Years Later 2012 I'm 21 and started writing again, and I had a dream! hear comes that dream Quote lol. that I should produce but it never happen, I had a son and a family to Take care of. Just last year late 2018 I started writing again and this year 2019 I started recording my tracks.
Message to fans :
Believe in Yourself and keep your head up, We all have a story to tell and everyone is unique in their own way. And everybody has a skill that another person doesn't have.
To make it this far for me I had to cut of people I once knew because they weren't meeting my expectations and weren't supporting enough. Everybody comes to a crossroads someday and you have to make choices like this in order for you to Suceed.

"Since I was about 12, remember grabbing my first cheap mic setting it up with my grandmother's old ass laptop using mix craft.......Came ALONG way from that."

"Real life street music! Rather in a banger or a way to make you feel it emotionaly it's always from my life. Through what I've done, what I've seen, what I grew up & been around. I make music you can relate to or go count up and jugg to straight like that."

"Coming up for me it switched through time from DMX, Biggie, 2Pac, Bones Thugs, To Meek Mill, Jay-Z, Young Scooter, Lil Boosie, and Kevin Gates. With time comes change."
When did you start making music and why?
'Started one day fed up with sh*t back when I was 11-12, I just put two and two together and it just flowed to me. Definitely wasn't no where near perfect at first, but it was something I knew I was good at & was a way to release. I knew I could progress it toward perfection finding my own style. It's always been something I could sit down/stand up and work on happily and involved fully 100% for hours."
What makes you unique?
"Thats for you to find out, for you to hear because at the end of the day I could sit and tell you 10 things and you not agree, at the end of the day its all an opinion I feel. But I can tell you my music speaks for it self from the realness & versatile in my approach through each mixtape, song, album etc."

Q1: my artist name is ~YT~ & I’m well known as a rapper & producer.
I got placed with that name because my last name is Whitehurst & my teammates gave me the nickname of “Whitey”.
Then one day in 7th grade home economics class my buddy put “YT” in the form of sewing needles in that red tomato thing you put your sewing needles in haha & it stick w/ me ever since!
Q2: I’ve been making full records since 18(engineering, rapping, producing)
Before that I was just freestyling with the squad for fun.
Since then I’ve released over 80 records, 3 projects & headlined my own shows.
Now I’m 23.
So I been at it for 5 solid years!
Q3: I’m from a small corn town in the heart of Illinois at Canton, IL.
At the start of this summer I moved to Chicago to build my brand & go globally!
Q4: I'm part of the hip hop community as a rapper/producer.
When it comes to my style of music I’m in my own pocket.Sonically & Lyrically.
